Information processed on your device
Clipzy stores your Twitch access token in Android Keystore or iOS Keychain. It stores your Twitch user identifier, clip library, review decisions, collections, edit drafts, export allowance, and subscription entitlement cache locally on your device.
Downloaded clips and working files remain in app storage. Finished exports are saved to your device media library and remain there until you remove them. Clipzy sends a file to another app only when you choose to share it.
Information sent to service providers
- Twitch: Clipzy sends your access token and requests associated with your Twitch user identifier to Twitch to sign you in and retrieve or manage clips you are authorized to access.
- Google AdMob: the free plan displays ads. Subject to your region, device settings, and consent choices, Google may process device or advertising identifiers, approximate location, app interactions, ad impressions, and ad engagement for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and personalization. On iOS, Clipzy requests App Tracking Transparency permission only after the applicable Google consent flow.
- Sentry: Clipzy may send crash reports, diagnostics, performance information, app version, and device information so we can identify and fix reliability problems. Clipzy is configured not to attach Twitch identifiers, access tokens, clip titles, or media URLs to these reports.
- PostHog: Clipzy may send an opaque random install or account identifier, app version, build, platform, language/locale, free or Pro status, and a limited set of app interactions, outcomes, and operation timings for product analytics and reliability measurement. PostHog does not receive your Twitch identifier, name, email address, clip identifiers or titles, media URLs, captions, search text, OAuth token, receipt, advertising identifier, or local file paths. Automatic interaction capture and session replay are disabled, and IP-based geographic enrichment is disabled. Clipzy uses this information only to understand feature use and fix product friction, not for advertising or cross-app tracking.
- RevenueCat and the app stores: RevenueCat, Apple, or Google process an anonymous app user identifier, product and entitlement status, purchase history, and store receipt or purchase token to offer, validate, restore, and manage subscriptions and prevent fraud. Clipzy does not send your Twitch identifier to RevenueCat and does not receive your full payment-card details.
- Apple speech recognition: on iOS, when an on-device speech model is unavailable for the selected language, Apple may process the audio track of the clip to generate captions. Android caption transcription is performed on the device. Clipzy does not use the microphone to record you for captioning.
Website and waitlist
The Clipzy website uses Vercel Analytics for aggregate site usage. If you join the optional email waitlist, the website sends your email address and basic signup attribution to Formspark for storage and Resend to manage the mailing list and deliver messages. Website and waitlist data are separate from the mobile app.
Retention and deletion
Local app data remains until you use Account → Delete Local Data or clear the app's storage. Uninstalling normally removes the app database and app-private files, while credentials in platform secure storage follow Android or iOS system behavior. Delete Local Data applies to the active Twitch account; signing out alone does not delete its local library. Files already published to your media library or shared with another app must be deleted from those locations separately.
Twitch, Google, Apple, RevenueCat, Sentry, PostHog, Formspark, Resend, and Vercel retain information they process according to their own policies and service configurations. Store purchase records may need to be retained for transaction, tax, fraud-prevention, or legal purposes. Waitlist emails remain until they are no longer needed or you ask us to remove them.
Your choices
- Use Google's consent and privacy-options controls for advertising choices.
- On iOS, allow or deny tracking in the system prompt or later in Settings.
- Restore or manage a Pro subscription through Clipzy and your Apple or Google account.
- Sign out and use Twitch connections settings to revoke Clipzy's access.
- Delete the active account's local Clipzy data from the Account screen.
- Contact support to request deletion of a PostHog analytics record or RevenueCat customer record.
- Request deletion of an email address submitted to the website waitlist.
Children
Clipzy is not directed to children. The store listing is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a Clipzy account or backend.
